PlanetPTC Community is near and dear to my heart, both personally and professionally, because it's something I have long championed at PTC. Dating back to my early days when I ran the corporate newsletter, I knew that our customers' personalities were the perfect fit for networking, sharing and learning in an online environment.
Last year, we ran a customer survey to confirm this theory. The survey data was resoundingly positive. Our customers were not only interested in participating with PTC, but their average engagement in social networks was much higher than the average online adult population. Based on this data, we strategically planned PlanetPTC Community over the last 12 months. The end result is a community whose three guiding tenants - Showcase, Network, Inspire - enable customers to become heroes by showing off and being recognized for the great work they create using PTC's products.
Even moreso than PTC.com, PlanetPTC Community will require constant nurturing. I expect many more months of hard work ahead as we lay a solid foundation and determine the right mix of engagement and management. In the end, I hope that PlanetPTC Community will become as transformative for our customers as I believe it can be.
